4-7-8 breathing

A diaphragmatic breathing technique popularized by Andrew Weil, based on pranayama. Cycle: inhale 4 s through the nose, hold 7 s, exhale 8 s through the mouth. Prolonging the exhalation stimulates the vagus nerve and activates the parasympathetic rest state.
