Effect by goal · level of evidence
Dermal matrix in aged skin (with palmitoyl oligopeptide)
improvesLowpreclinical (A)animals / laboratory
Methodological study by the manufacturer (Sederma) on skin explants and with ultrasound: the mixture with palmitoyl oligopeptide reduced the low-echogenic band under the epidermis, typical of aged skin, vs placebo. No figures in the abstract.
Eye cream with palmitoyl tripeptide-1, palmitoyl tetrapeptide-7, and other actives: after 12 weeks, hydration rose by 28% and elasticity by 19%. Study by the developing company; the effect cannot be attributed to the peptide.
Its sequence (GQPR) comes from immunoglobulin G. In the laboratory it is described as reducing the production of interleukin-6, an inflammatory signal that increases with age and sun exposure, which could slow collagen breakdown.
